They call it street fashion but is it really a trend in the fashion or is it an act of woman dis-empowerment? Somebody tell me at what point did the ladies and women decide that wearing 'tights' and 'stockings' could now replace skirts and trouser wear? As far as my gender and communications lecture can remember, those were considered as inner clothes and stockings would be worn by a woman when she has a short skirt on!
Anyone walking in the streets of nairobi is bound to encounter a lady or a woman on a blouse top or something similar and a tight.Guys it is really bizzare. And talking of women they atlist aged over 18,this are supposed to be leaders of tommorow who are in colleges, universities and some of them even working. Worse more is that some of them are married women yet they under dress and behave like they are teenagers! It saddens my heart as these beautiful women of our country disempower themselves daily. We are giving our male counterparts a goo reason to look down upon us yet the constitution is here to protect our rights and empower us.
Wearing tights and some useless dress tops to advertise our rifts and valleys does not only belittle us but only confirms the myth that women are sex objects which is not true.Indecent dressing makes a man think about the bedroom everytime they set us on us.This is a wrong perception, everytime a man sees us we should potray a shadow of a potential woman president not a prostitute dressed to wait for a client in Koinange street. Women lets be decent, modest and style up.
